Check Out Maryland Local Businesses’ Promo for “Small Business Saturday”
On November 17th, we made an appearance on WMAR 2 News! Conor Edwards, our Marketing Director, spoke about our current user-generated-content campaign. You may have seen and possibly participated in our campaign on social media: “Shop Local”. Our Maryland small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities, and this campaign asks Marylanders to support local and spread the love.
Whichever local business is close to your heart, we invite you to create a brief video about them and why you love them! Submissions close the day before Thanksgiving, and we’d love to see your video that gives your favorite local business the recognition they deserve. Besides the potential of bringing a smile to a business owner’s face, you will also be in the running for a $100 gift card!
The campaign first launched on social media. However, our social media DMs are not the only channels through which you can send us your video. You can also text your submission to (443) 909-CRAB. Whichever way you decide to submit your video, here’s exactly how you can support local businesses with us.
Full Directions to Support Local
- Choose your favorite Maryland small business.
- Record a quick video (10–30 seconds) telling us:
- The business’s name
- Why you love them
- “Buy Local, Support Local” at the end (our campaign tagline!)
3. Send us your video.
Then, your video will be shared with the larger Maryland community on our social media!
We also encourage you to spread the word and ask family, friends, and colleagues to participate and support local. Only a few seconds of your time can help us create a chain reaction of video submissions across Maryland. So, who is that Maryland business that makes a difference in your day? You might think of your reliable auto repair shop down the road, or the restaurant you’d drive an hour for to get their signature dish. Your video could bring some new faces through their doors.
One other way that you can support your favorite local business is by visiting our website and searching for them. If you don’t see them listed, you can suggest that they be listed.
Thank you to WMAR 2 News for giving us the chance to inform the wider Maryland community of our campaign!
