Thurmont Kountry Kitchen is a family restaurant in the Frederick County town of Thurmont. Pat and Roger Ridenour opened the restaurant in 1984. Thurmont Kountry Kitchen saw success quickly after opening, allowing for large-scale renovations in the 1990’s.

In the early 2000’s, this restaurant rose to fame for its broasted chicken meals. Broasting is a cooking technique that combines frying and pressure cooking. Using this cooking strategy makes chicken crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
