Audio Engineer Positions

Engineering Internship Position

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of engineering/production (or whatever the desired field is)
  • Willing and ambitious to grow skills and develop within the company
  • Flexible Schedule

Expectations

  • Internships with High Life Studios will last for 3 months
  • In that time you are expected to sit in on sessions, make runs for artists during sessions and record artists in designated sessions
  • Must be able to sit in on sessions at least 5-10 hours per week (the more the merrier)
  • During sessions, interns are expected to be a fly on the wall. Be polite and interact with clients when appropriate but you are not there to give feedback or socialize. After sessions feel free to talk to the engineer about any questions and go over techniques used in session.
  • Interns must clean the studio once a week.

Audio Engineer Position

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience recording/mixing
  • Proficiency in Pro Tools (doesn’t have to be DAW of choice)
  • Exceptional understanding of signal flow, equipment use and troubleshooting
  • Superb ear for sound
  • Engineers must be organized and able to manage time, resources, and workflow efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Must be able to adapt and work with a variety of artists and music genres, and adjust to changing technology and industry trends
  • Certificate in audio technology or similar (not required but recommended)
  • Ability to work under pressure and stay calm when things go wrong
  • Willing and ambitious to grow as an engineer and develop within the company
  • Communication, interpersonal and customer service skills

Expectations

  • Engineers must show up AT LEAST 15 minutes prior to session start time in order to make sure they’re set up, equipment is tested and working and they’re ready to work as soon as the client arrives. If you show up at the time of the session starting, you’re late.
  • Engineers must execute aforementioned skills in every session.
